The first step to STARTING AN ONLINE BUSINESS is making the decision as to what you want to market ... your niche - your focus - your PRODUCT or your service.
Most of the time it is best to choose something you have an interest in - a hobby you might have or something you are passionate about, maybe even products you use that you want to share their benefits with everyone.

Hello, my name is Bonnie Atchley (I am sometimes known as Merry Poppins!) and I am a mentor for Starting An Online Business.

As a professional organizer ... one of the first things to do when you are trying to decide what it is you want to promote, sell, write about or develop is to make a list of ALL the things you are interested in - the hobbies you enjoy; the fun things you like to do; anything you are truly passionately interested in,; the things you would do anyway. Think about these things as if money were not an object.

Sit down with pencil and paper and just write down every thought. Write out all your ideas, interests, current and past thoughts and desires. Write down everything that comes to mind - even if you think it is silly. ridiculous or way-far-out!

Now that you've done that ... you might ask yourself - ?how does one go about deciding what to market ... what niche to focus on ... what product or service you want to sell or promote?

As with any business - you have to be passionate about what you are doing ... you really need to be doing something that makes you happy, otherwise you will not be willing to spend the time that is necessary to start and/or build a truly successful online business. You have to be interested in what you are doing to successfully build your business, whether it is a brick and mortar business (having a physical 'store-front' type business) or an internet business - loving and truly liking what you are doing is paramount to your success.

Love the service you are offering -
